Automated External Defibrillator
|
|
'); // --> An automated external defibrillator (AED) is a portable automatic device used to restore normal heart rhythm to patients in cardiac arrest. An automated external defibrillator is applied outside the body. The AED automatically analyzes the patient’s heart rhythm and advises the rescuer whether or not a shock is needed to restore a normal heart beat. If the patient’s heart resumes beating normally, the heart has been successfully defibrillated. You can find automated external defibrillators in public places, such as airports and office buildings (public access AEDs). Doctors sometimes recommend home defibrillators for patients with heart disease. Proper training should be received before attempting to use an automated external defibrillator. |
