Coenzyme Q10
|
|
'); // --> Coenzyme Q10 refers to a naturally occuring antioxidant that is commonly believed to help with the burning of fats and carbohydrates, as well as aiding in the body's proper use of Vitamin C and Vitamin E. Coenzyme Q10 is available as a dietary supplement, and is often also referred to by it's shortened name, CoQ10. Research suggests that CoQ10 also plays a role in helping to protect the body from various forms of cancer, as well as possibly reduces the risk of heart disease. Although further research is being done on Coenzyme Q10, some research suggests that it has value in treating a variety of cardiovascular conditions such as high blood pressure, angina and congestive heart failure. As with most dietary supplements, it is suggested that you seek the advice of your physician before beginning to take Coenzyme Q10. Generally, experts recommend that healthy people take between 30-90 milligrams of Coenzyme Q10 twice daily with meals. Patients at risk for cardiovascular conditions may be recommended by their physicians to take more - in some cases up to 500 milligrams/day. |
