Dental Implants

'); // --> Dental Implants are an exciting new alternative to partial or fixed bridges if you have had teeth extracted. Until recently, dental implants were very expensive and beyond the reach of most people. Although they are still considered an elective procedure that is not covered by most dental insurance, you will find that new procedures have reduced the cost to the point where average people can afford it. This does not mean it has become dirt cheap, a single dental implant can cost as much as $4000, but that is actually only about $1000 more than the cost of a permanent bridge and it has long lasting natural look. Dental implants work like this, after your tooth is extracted and has had time to heal (usually 6 – 8 weeks), your dentist will place post with a titanium screw into your jaw at the point where your tooth was removed. After about another 2 – 4 months, you return and your dentist will place a permanent crown over the post. From that point on you have a very natural looking tooth that is difficult to tell from the real thing. |
