Dentures

Dentures are full-mouth false teeth, which are used in old age (or after an accident in which the users' real teeth have all been knocked out) and also, when your teeth go bad because of certain ailments, to allow for a normal appearance and to aid in chewing.

Problems with dentures include the fact that they often don't 'feel right' in the wearer's mouth and that they have a tendency to move around, thus requiring denture adhesive to hold them in place.

A partial plate on the other hand is a set of false teeth that are anchored to existing teeth either in a removable fashion or are permanently bonded to the anchor teeth. If a partial plate is neither mechanically or permanently fastened it is called a temporary plate.

To fit properly, a denture must be constructed by a dental lab based on an imprint of your gums or existing teeth. There are a number of online sources who can take the imprint from your dentist and supply you with discounted dentures.
