|
'); // --> Bamboo flooring is one of the hottest new trends in home design today. Homeowners are drawn to its beauty, durability, and environmentally friendly story. There are now a number of manufactures making high quality bamboo flooring and as it is becoming more popular you rarely need to make special orders to obtain it. Bamboo flooring is manufactured by splitting mature bamboo into strips that are bonded together using high pressure and temperature to create long flat planks measuring 3”- 6” across and typically 4’ long. The bamboo can be bonded to the planks in either a horizontal (outside edge face up) or vertical (side sliced edge up) pattern to create two distinct looks. Most bamboo flooring is sealed with a number of coats of high quality finish and usually carries a lifetime warranty from the manufacture. Unfinished bamboo flooring is designed to be professionally installed, stained and sanded in your home just like traditional wood flooring. Bamboo flooring takes stain evenly in a way that is very similar oak. Prices vary depending on the style manufacturer and grade of bamboo, but you can expect to pay between $2.50 and $3.75 a square foot for the flooring. |
